Portrait Urn
Hand-Painted Pet Portrait Urns
A custom hand-painted pet portrait urn is a timeless way to honor the love and bond you shared with your beloved companion. Each portrait is personally painted by me in my Philadelphia studio from your submitted photographs—never printed or AI-generated. Every brushstroke is carefully placed to capture your pet's unique personality, expression, and spirit, creating a one-of-a-kind memorial to cherish for years to come.
First, I would like to say how truly sorry I am for your loss. I know how difficult this journey can be because our pets are family. They become part of our everyday lives, and we are their whole world. It is a privilege to create these memorials, and I consider every portrait an honor to paint.
Whether you're creating a peaceful resting place for your pet or choosing a meaningful gift for someone experiencing loss, my hope is that your urn brings comfort, healing, and a lasting reminder of the unconditional love you shared.
I create realistic hand-painted portraits of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and many other beloved companions. My goal is to capture not only your pet's likeness but also the little details and expressions that made them uniquely yours.
I'm Alexis Grant, a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), and I've specialized in creating custom pet portraits since 2011. Every urn is individually hand-painted in my Philadelphia studio and receives my full attention from start to finish.
Before your urn ships, I'll email photographs of the completed portrait for your approval. Minor adjustments are always welcome before I apply the final protective finish. Every memorial is thoughtfully hand-painted, carefully packaged, and created with the same love and attention I would want for my own pets.
Personalization
Each urn can be personalized at no additional charge.
I can hand-letter your pet's name, dates, or a meaningful phrase on either the front or back of the urn. I can also paint your pet's favorite toy and/or their paw print on the reverse side as an additional keepsake. These additions are completely optional and included free of charge.
How to Order
Place your order, and you'll receive a confirmation from where you can upload your pet's photographs.
If you'd like to discuss your reference photos before ordering, you're always welcome to email me at lexannegrant@gmail.com. I'm happy to help you choose the best image for your portrait.
Once I receive your order, I'll personally review your photos and reach out shortly to confirm that I have everything I need before I begin painting.
I generally prefer to work from one clear reference photo to achieve the most accurate likeness of your pet. Additional photos are always welcome for color or detail reference, but combining multiple photographs into one portrait can sometimes reduce likeness due to differences in lighting, camera angles, and perspective.
If you would like a paw print or favorite toy painted on the back of your urn, you are welcome to upload those photographs after checkout.
For the best reference photo:
Take your photo outdoors in natural daylight.
Avoid harsh direct sunlight and heavy shadows.
Photograph your pet at eye level whenever possible.
Choose a photo where your pet's eyes are sharp and in focus.
These details help me capture your pet's true colors, expression, and personality.

While I keep these ceramic urns in stock, I am also happy to paint on a special urn you already own. I can paint on ceramic, porcelain, and glass surfaces. If you have another memorial item in mind, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Caring for Your Hand-Painted Urn
Each urn is sealed with multiple protective coats to help preserve the artwork for years to come.
To clean, simply dust gently with a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, soaking the urn in water, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Displaying your memorial in a temperature-controlled environment will help preserve both the painting and the wood lid over time.
Sharing Your Memorial
I may occasionally share work-in-progress videos or photographs of completed memorials on my website and social media (@alexisannegrant). If your urn is intended as a surprise gift or you would prefer your memorial remain private, simply let me know and I will gladly respect your wishes.
Thank you for considering me to create this special memorial. I know how deeply our pets touch our lives, and it is truly an honor to preserve their memory through a hand-painted portrait that celebrates the love you shared.
